Walgreens Wellness ToursWhen was the last time you took a health screening? Early detection is the key to staying well, and the Walgreens Wellness Tour is crossing the nation to provide a variety of free services and screenings for the entire family.
Many diseases can be detected through screenings long before any symptoms are noticed, which is why awareness is so important to remaining healthy. The Walgreens Wellness Tour encourages consumers to act as their own health advocates by taking charge and visiting the wellness vehicle as it stops in their cities to offer educational information and free health screenings.
The Walgreens Wellness Tours, composed of four 38-foot customized traveling education and health-screening vehicles, will arrive in select areas as part of a national, 12-month nationwide health screening tour. While two vehicles are touring around the continental U.S., another will be visiting select areas in Puerto Rico. Also, new this year, there will be a fourth bus, affiliated with the National Urban League, which will visit 27 urban communities across the country.
The tour aims to bring free screening services and better health awareness to local communities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Each visitor is invited to take all five screenings, which are worth more than $100 in value. All screenings take place inside the customized vehicle and include the following: total cholesterol level, blood pressure, bone density, glucose level and body mass index. Walgreens goal is to provide approximately $1,000,000 per month in health care screening to the public.
